RAD MAGAZINE
RAD Magazine is an alternative arts and lifestyles publication that was created while attending Woodbury University and was a runner-up in GDUSA's 2018 student design awards contest.
The name RAD Magazine was chosen to resemble the countercultural influence and rebellious nature of MAD Magazine. While the overarching visual aesthetic was inspired by higher-end art and culture publications such as Hi-Fructose, Juxtapoz, and Paper Magazine.
The articles in RAD Magazine review graffiti artists, examine MTV's relationship with music, explore the mainstream popularity of drag performance artists, interview musicians, and highlight other uniquely creative subcultures.
The logo was custom made to reflect the eclectic and creative nature of the magazine while also visually referencing the DIY "punk" rock aesthetic that's so many subcultures embrace.
